High Peaks Hideout
Stratton Brook Hut is for the adventurous spirits. Ascend up to the hut on a variety of intermediate/advanced trails, and be rewarded with view for miles. Bikers and hikers will be at home in this airy hut, with trails directly outside your door.
Mountain Aerie
Mountain views from nearly every window set Stratton Brook apart from the rest. The large great room/lounge look out on the panoramic Bigelow Range, and the bunkrooms face other 4,000 foot high peaks Sugarloaf, Abraham, and Crocker mountains. A covered walkway connects to the 10 room bunkhouse which sleeps 44 guests. Stratton also boasts the largest commercial kitchen of all the huts, offering endless culinary opportunities.
Mountain Bike Destination
Stratton Brook Hut is located in the hub of local mountain bike trails. Backcountry, flow, singletrack, and doubletrack trails all swing up to the hut and continue down into the Valley. Connect up with Carrabassett Valley, CRNemba, and Sugarloaf Outdoor Center trails for full days of Maine's best riding.
Hiking Gateway
The massive Bigelow Preserve Public Land sits just north of Stratton Brook Hut. The Appalachian Trail traverses the ridgeline, and advanced day hikers can partake in sections. Hike down to Stratton Brook Pond, and continue up the Fire Warden or Horn Pond trail for some phenomenal views. Looking for other day hikes? Trek down Crommett's Overlook trail for a great picnic spot overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain, or loop around the Oak Knoll trail and ascend via Newton's Revenge for a light hike.
